Mr. Arnold is a Board Certified Education Lawyer whose firm works as General Counsel to more than 150 charter schools in Florida. Mr. Arnold is a member of the bar in Florida, Georgia, and Colorado. Mr. Arnold began worked as a law clerk and prosecutor in the State Attorney's Offices in Palm Beach and Duval counties from 1997-2004. In total, Mr. Arnold has tried more than 50 jury trials and hundreds of non-jury trials in criminal courts in State and Federal Courts in Florida and Georgia. Mr. Arnold opened his own firm in 2005. Mr. Arnold works with charter schools from the application process through legal issues related to day to day operational needs. Some common areas of legal support include reviewing and defending applications, charter contract renewals, employee contracts and termination, and compliance with charter statutes and other applicable state and federal regulation. Common litigation has included ESE disputes with parents and LEAs, reporting obligations, disputes with governing boards, investigations, contract disputes with vendors and charter school sponsors, disputes with FDOE, employment contracts with teachers, staff, principals, and school founders. Together with his wife and law partner, Melissa Gross-Arnold and their associates, the Arnold Law Firm serves as general counsel to charter schools in Florida and Georgia, providing support on transactional and litigation needs to our charter schools more than 30 Florida, Georgia, and Colorado. While the great majority of our work is done electronically, we have traveled for matters involving clients from our Jacksonville office from Miami, to Atlanta, to Pensacola, to Denver and numerous places in between.
