Maverick Public Relations is a boutique communications consultancy focused on providing big agency experience with outstanding client service. Offerings include public relations, media training, investor relations, content development, thought leadership development, speaking engagements, response strategy/crisis management and event support.

Leveraging my extensive background in clean energy and sustainable technologies, I advise, develop, manage and implement SMART communications programs including hyperlocal public relations events, and initiatives to effectively educate target audiences such as lawmakers and regulators and move the needle on critical issues of the moment.

Shawna joined The Rosen Group in 1999, and over 19 years helped the boutique PR agency grow, ultimately serving as Senior Vice President. In 2012, she moved to Colorado to open Rosen West. She developed publicity programs for clients including Cibus, L’Eagle, Wana Brands, Good Chemistry, Next Frontier Biosciences, urban-gro, Cannabis Business Alliance, Colorado Cannabis Summit, The Marijuana Show, USGBC Colorado, American Wind Energy Association, the Geothermal Energy Association, Terra-Gen Power, International Fund for Animal Welfare, The Nature Conservancy, Smithsonian and AARP. She has organized high-wattage press events from the Green Inaugural Ball to celebrate the inauguration of Barack Obama and Joseph Biden in 2009, to toasts for celebrities such as Adrien Brody and Sharon Osbourne. In 2010, she managed the public relations for the groundbreaking of the world’s largest wind farm, Alta Wind Energy Center. Shawna successfully completed the PRSA Reputation Management Certificate Program in 2017. In 2016, she accepted the Cannabist Award for best agency for work in the cannabis industry on behalf of The Rosen Group. In 2010, Shawna was named a finalist in PRNews’ PR People Awards for Nonprofits. In 2003, Shawna was named to PR News' list of "15 To Watch." Since 2005, she has served on the Board of Publicity Club of New York, where she secures panelists from the media industry for PCNY's monthly publicity luncheons, including top tier television producers and magazine editors. Shawna began her career at Porter Novelli’s pharmaceutical practice in New York City.
