Pentair is an $11B market capitalization company based in Minnesota. Pentair has 15 years history of managing operations using Lean methodology modeled after Toyota Production System. During my internship, I was involved in projects that covered a wide variety of roles ranging from projects with quality engineers, manufacturing/process engineers and design engineers.• Developed and instituted a new standard work process that led to an increase in efficiency and production rate throughout the plant while helping to lower costs • Designed a new fixture that increased production within an injection molding assembly by an average of 5% over a one month’s period• Worked with quality engineers to produce non-conforming materials (NMR) reports. These reports subsequently were used to lower defects by 3%• Collaborated with design engineers to create and revise failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) reports. FMEA reports were subsequently used in our Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) to ensure robustness of the product design and our manufacturing processes. • Pentair offered me an opportunity to continue part-time Internship program in Spring or Summer 2017
