As the UX Team lead, I still see the dedication and hard work that I was initially introduced to, which only fosters the work ethic among the team. Shawn’s experience and extensive knowledge is demonstrated in his work. Shawn is often the first to suggest new user experiences, designs, and flows, which have had a pivotal impact on the success of LifeWay.com and our marketing sites. He is able to communicate project requirements to both the project owners and team members in a way that all parties understand the expectations for a project. He is a champion for our team and truly the cornerstone for the UX team. His role as UX lead perfectly describes him -- a leader. A leader isn’t someone who shouts demands to the team from a distance, but someone who is in the trenches with the team. Shawn is a proactive leader who leads by example. Beyond his leadership skills, Shawn is a highly skilled creative who is able to develop what he designs. He actively creates wireframes and mockups for our projects with pixel perfect precision. Shawn contributes to the team as a designer and developer and will often fill in the gaps while others work on projects. Shawn’s insights and expertise has led to major improvements to the LifeWay.com e-commerce system, which has been paramount to the success of LifeWay.com. Recently, I have had the privilege to assist him more as a project manager, which has given me more insight on the true level of management he provides. He has automated the ticket system that has prevented the team from being inundated with email requests. When a project owner makes a request, it automatically populates into our project management system, which allows him to assign it to us as needed.
