CurrentAs part of the streaming data team we processed setup and work data messages communicating with agriculture displays in the field over IoT and WebSockets.Applications were hosted AWS cloud using ECS Fargate, Spot, SQS/SNS , S3, dynamo, and postgres. Practiced infrastructure as code using terraform/cloud formation.Stood up APIs so that co-ops and farmers can access data related to their activities on movile and the web. Generated Scala models for open-api and async-api contracts for communication over both JSON and protobuff. Practice FP in Scala on the Typlevel stack including cats-effect, doobie, and http4s.Created flyway migrations to manage the postgres databases.Paired with the SREs to get our applications instumented with DataDog using the natchez framework for cats-effect. Created dashboards, monitors, and SLOs for our services. Practiced agile to deliver regular value to the company and it'scustomers. Regularly pair programmed with teammates.Utilized test containers for integration and cucumber testing. Created a proof of concept migration to Scala 3 documenting the steps and gotchas. Created a feature to migrate all of our apps.Coordinated with half of the team in India.Coordinated and conducted tech leveling on many topics with my emphasis being on FP in Scala.Participated in the on-call rotation supporting, stabilizing, and continually improving our services.
