I have discovered that the greatest and most useful knowledge we obtain is through “Lived Experience”. I do believe I have my Master’s in that. I am currently seeking an opportunity that allows me to explore avenues outside of working as a mental health professional. I have had the honor over the last 5 years of working nearly every program offered at a nonprofit Mental Health facility. I was supervisor and sole organizer of the grant funded Living Room Program. I was responsible for gathering and organizing community resources for clients with a large ray of unique life styles and different backgrounds. Designed all flyers and necessary materials to help in marketing the Living Room Program and advertise it to the 6 counties we serve. In the Living Room I provided, walk-in crisis services. I did admissions, requests for services, and linked new clients to programs in accordance to need and preferences. I provided Psycho Social Rehabilitation Groups. I was selected by Administration to sit on the Strategic Planning Committee and assisted in the development of agencies mission statement. We devised plans that would promote positive change in the future by improving employee performance and overall productivity. I Worked as an Employment Specialist in the IPS(Individual-Placement Services) Program. Helped consumers apply, and maintain employment. Provided Case Management Services as needed, and Peer Mentoring Services. I Advocated for consumers and employees and was responsible for assisting in changing agency policies that interfere or negatively effect workers and/or consumers. I provided Rep-Payee Services for 20 consumers. Did all bill paying & budgeting to insure financial stability. I was manager of agencies residential facility Hope Home. Did all grocery shopping and weekly meal planning. I am hoping to find work in Human Resources, Accounting, Marketing, or Customer Service, but willing to be a generalist and work wherever I am needed most.
