Hello!I work as a payroll clerk for a corporate office that currently has two different restaurant concepts. I am personally responsible for manually running the payroll for four of the nine states that we have restaurants in. I have been in this position since I started with the company nearly two years ago and have learned everything that I know with in house training from the two other employees in the payroll department. Running payroll does not just mean that we simply process checks! I am also responsible for;1.packing and shipping all payroll related paperwork that goes out weekly2.tracking all craft employee vacation time (over 1500 employees)3.issuing a pay card if the employee wishes to receive one4.process any necessary retro-paychecks off cycle5.processing all garnishment deductions per employee of any state that I am responsible forWhile completing these tasks weekly, it is important to be able to work well with the other departments for support. Being able to effectively communicate with colleagues and customers is an essential part of my job. The time spent at my current employer has been invaluable for both corporate knowledge and professional growth.
