Manage staff, resources, timelines, messaging, content quality, tactical data analysis, member mobilization and budget. •Ninety (90) percent of all tracked news items regarding medical imaging or radiation oncology quote ACR. In 2023, ACR cited or quoted in 9,800 media reports reaching an audience of 29 billion. This included hits in all network TV newscasts, major newspapers (WSJ, NYT, USAT and WP) and consumer news sites (WebMD, Yahoo and MSN). Would cost $53 million to purchase advertising with equivalent reach.•Produced three-month radio campaign, in support of lobbying, after which Medicare reversed stance to propose coverage for Virtual Colonoscopy. 9,000 PSA airings (including two during the NCAA basketball tournament) educated 243 million listeners on the effectiveness, ease and lower cost of these exams.•Directed ACR marketing-communications for large clinical trials with $100M+ budgets, including two of the most diverse cancer imaging trials in history, which achieved 3x the national avg. for minority participation. •Led ACR media relations (in support of direct education) that helped spur the US Preventive Services Task Force to lower its recommended breast cancer screening age (from 50) to 40. This move ensures full insurance coverage of these exams for millions of women under the Affordable Care Act.
