July 15, 2019, I went to work for Universal Thin Film Lab Corporation, in Newburgh, NY. As UTFL looks to expand its market presents, the need for an Operations Manager was discovered. This is the role that I current fill for UTFL, and the future is bright! I entered active duty in the United States Army Corps of Engineers in June 1990. I was stationed in Vicenza, Italy in the 3 Battalion, 325th Airborne Combat Team. While I served in this unit I spent time Northern Iraq during Operation Desert Storm/Desert Shield. I was also stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina serving in the 82nd Airborne Division. In 2001I was serving with the 812th Military Police Company based in Orangeburg, NY, when the unit was called to perform homeland security services attached to the 10th Mountain Division at Fort Drum, NY from November 2001 – August 2002. They were then reactivated in February 2003 and I was deployed to Baghdad, Iraq under Operation Iraqi Freedom. While there, I was assigned to aide in the construction management of the U.S. Army’s detention center for high value prisoners captured in Iraq. During the last deployment to Iraq, I injured sustained an injury to my back and was sent to Walter Reed Medical Center for evaluation in September 2003. I was transferred to Ft. Drum until my ultimate discharge in April 2004. Due to my physical limitation I decided to pursue my bachelor’s degree at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, NY. Since enrolling at Marist College in May of 2011, I strived for academic success and was a successful advocate for my fellow student veterans at Marist and throughout the rest of the country. As a student veteran advocate, I have been instrumental in the official formation of the Marist Student Veteran Organization and contributed to the formulation of a successful Veterans program at Marist College.
