Managed a caseload of up to 80 claims/annually with exposure of up to $1M, conducting investigations to resolve indicators of fraud. Investigated inventory of over 100 coverages (e.g. auto/renters/ personal articles) and conduct comprehensive investigations, including scene inspection, photographs of damaged property, canvass of loss location, examinations under oath/depositions, and detailed recorded statements. Developed action plans specific to the indicators of each file. *Investigated auto accident ring, intentionally causing accidents in Orleans and Jefferson Parishes; worked with the Orleans and Jefferson DA’s office, Orleans head of Economics Crime Unit, and State Police. Resulted in guilty pleas and restitution totaling over $47K.*Investigated Lafayette, LA city bus involved in accident, which resulted in 5 people being charged with insurance fraud and ordered to pay restitution totaling over $8.6K.*Represented State Farm as part of SHU (Special Handling Unit) task team, formed following state mandated mediation program by LA Department of Insurance. Mediated 168 Hurricane Katrina claims on behalf of State Farm, utilizing investigative expertise; delivering 72% success rate. *Managed investigations in a detailed and quality manner, accelerating completion and closing of claim process; reducing inventory, along with reducing the amount of paying non-meritorious claims.*Collaborated with appraisers, origin/cause experts, and engineers; gaining subject matter expertise in the triggers of specialized reports. These efforts were instrumental in obtaining independent reports to assist in determining if a claim was meritorious. *Member of the Change Adoption Team responsible for soliciting and providing feedback to team members to ensure all employees hear consistent message points about the company's evolution and all employees understand their role in achieving the company's goals to serve customers.
