Software Design Engineer in Test for iPhone and iPad applications for Nordstrom.• Symbolication and analysis of customer crash log. Member of 3 person team that reduced the number of crashes by 54%. Increased App Store rating for iPhone application from 2.5 to 4 stars. • Research and implemented accessibility for iPhone application• Performed Static Analysis on both iPhone and iPad code bases. Testing domain includes aspects with both of black box testing and white box testing. Traditional test planning incorporating manual, automated, and code-level testing. Along with designing and writing component level testing, using code coverage tools (gcov) to determine percentage of coverage. Test coverage corroborated by percentage or additional test cases created. Use of the Model–View–Controller (MVC) design pattern incorporated into test methodology and test planning. Testing responsibilities include work with service releases, allowing me to working across disciplines (Program Management, Marketing, and Development) on finding and implementing customer solutions. Stand Outs:• Office for Macintosh 2008, Office for Macintosh 2011 • Mobile app testing of Office for iPad. With no object model available for scripting, automated testing of Word involved creating tests written in C++ and Objective-C. • Thorough bug reports written, including expected and actual behavior, results in previous and Windows version, as well as information from debugging with a private build of the project (stack traces, debug logs, etc.). • Authored project to determine specific amount of Mac specific code in source files. Used to assign appropriate testing prior to area and feature associated with source code. Project used in conjunction with code coverage results. • Managed external vendor team assigned to write object model scripts. Scripts needing to be written were determined via logged out object model calls from Mac Word. I mined the logged results through an Access database and determined which Class, and which properties of that Class were not called. Tasked achieved 100% object model coverage. • Executed security testing with fuzzed documents which exposed potential vulnerabilities • SharePoint testing for Mac Word’s collaboration feature co-authoring feature. Automated test cases for working with documents off of a SharePoint server.

Performed manual and automated testing of Microsoft Word for the Macintosh. Test plans organized to break down testing to be efficient, prioritized, and risk fully accounted for. Test cases created for manual execution and geared toward reliable automation scenarios. Emphasis for these projects was black box testing. Stand Outs• Office for the Macintosh 98, 2001, and X• Testing emphasis also included both international and localization considerations, assuring features reflected the correct strings and formatting for the specified locale. All Unicode support verified as well. • Drove team goals for automation investigations. Tracked daily progress and reported on final results and bug analysis. Streamlined stats process by directly accessing SQL database via ODBC into Excel workbook. • Created and delivered automation training for new hires. Course covered overall functionality of automation system, functionality of the automation harness, debugging scripts, and the creation of new scripts. • Developed and maintained team web site.
