During COVID, I pivoted out of a corporate career into the direct services of mental health. This clinical internship juncture paralleled my journey as a full-time counseling graduate student. At the New York Center for Living, I provided systemic psychotherapy to individuals and their families experiencing substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders. A year later, I began counseling distressed couples and at-risk adolescents through a smaller group practice and, eventually, a private practice setting.
