As an example of his work quality and reputation, his efforts in leading our global VMware partnership speaks for itself. Shawn took responsibility to manage the worldwide relationship, led key supply chain initiatives, pricing planning and overall key sales strategies that resulted in triple digit sales growth. He worked directly with VMware and acted as lead on behalf of our product management, marketing and engineering teams and our global sales and operations leadership to foster and significantly grow the partnership. The best example of Shawn's success came at VMware's annual partner meeting in the Fall of 2017 that I attended. At the primary dinner, VMware's CEO had the option to sit at any of the 65 tables that were set up on the floor. He settled on the open seat next to Shawn and proceeded to have a professional and fun personal conversation for over an hour with Shawn and the rest of us at the table. It was not by chance. Pat Gelsinger approached the table and smiled and looked at Shawn and said, "Hey Shawn, you got room for one more?". This was simply a defining moment and of course a testament to Pat's easy going style and inclusive nature. The fact that Pat had 649 other seats to choose from but singled Shawn out was extremely compelling to me and spoke volumes of the trust and reliance Shawn had built with VMware, and of course, their CEO. Although not the case with every peer of Shawn's, in his case, his colleagues have come to simply expect full accountability, responsibility, transparenc" and "Shawn is a highly respected alliance management and business development leader in the organization and in broader enterprise software industry. He has well-rounded knowledge of business needs, data center technologies and competitive intelligence.
