Shawnna joined SCI Engineering in 2001, rising to her current role as Vice President. Her expertise in geotechnical engineering and project management includes preparing detailed reports and proposals for subsurface explorations, providing foundation design recommendations for both shallow and deep foundations, and conducting slope stability, liquefaction, and settlement analyses. As a Project Manager, Shawnna oversees geotechnical reports and analyses, reviews project plans and specifications, attends project meetings, and delivers technical presentations to clients and peers. She also manages projects for the Construction Services Group.Beyond her primary role, Shawnna is deeply engaged in professional activities, holding committee positions within the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) - Missouri, and serving on the board of ACEC Missouri. She contributes to the Home Builders Association, the Geo-Professional Business Association, and the Academy of Geo-Professionals. Her achievements include being inducted into the Missouri S&T Academy of Civil Engineers, where she currently serves as vice president on the board of directors. Shawnna’s dedication to the engineering community has been recognized with the Distinguished Service Award from ACEC, among other accolades. She remains actively involved with the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), serving on the Geo-Institutes Site Characterization & Ground Modification Committee and in her third term as ASCE Region 7 Governor.
