About Shawn Fraser
As the Dean of Graduate Studies at Athabasca University, I lead and support the development and delivery of high-quality and innovative graduate programs that meet the needs and aspirations of adult learners. I have been in this role since August 2020, after serving as the Interim Dean for two years.I have over 15 years of experience as a professor and an administrator in higher education, with a strong background in research design, program evaluation, strategic enrollment management, and strategic planning. I hold a PhD from the University of Alberta, and a MSc and a BSc from the University of Saskatchewan and the University of Regina, respectively. My mission is to foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and diversity in graduate education, and to enhance the academic and professional success of our students and faculty.
