My name is Shawn Roderick, and I am a student at Indiana University's Kelley School of Business. I am pursuing a degree in accounting and business analytics because I love working with numbers and doing quantitative analysis. As an accounting and business analytics major, I am learning how to gather, prepare, and analyze a company's financial data and make useful decisions from it. Strengths of mine that are useful in the workplace are hard work and accountability. When I came to Indiana University, I had completed several courses for college credits and had a GPA in the 3.5 range. Since coming in as a freshman, I have improved my GPA every semester and now hold a 3.77 GPA. Also, I worked at a local country club in the summers of 2020-2022, and in those summers I did not miss a single day of work and picked up every day that was requested of me. I think these skills are crucial in any efficient workplace because you need employees you can trust to do work effectively and efficiently for proper business operations. I think my knowledge and skills in the field I am pursuing along with my strengths and prior experiences make me a good candidate for lots of opportunities.
