Hi, my name is Shawn Serven. I'm a creative currently living in Los Angeles, California. I specialize in fashion design and creative direction and currently work as the Senior Designer at Teddy Fresh.I'm very proud of my work at Teddy Fresh and have been able to flex my design and collaboration skills designing collections with Marvel, Godzilla, Trixie Mattel, Magic the Gathering amongst main line collection exclusively for Teddy Fresh. My previous role was in design/development for Nordstrom Made brand Open Edit. Open Edit is the newest and one of the fastest growing brands from the Nordstrom Product Group. In my time at Nordstrom I worked on the design team for over 10 in house brands and worked on the biggest launches in Nordstrom history. I've worked on brands like Something Navy, Rachel Parcell Collection, Leith, Treasure & Bond, BP, Open Edit and more. The professional moment I am most proud of is the inception and launch of BP. Be Proud, the first ever gender-inclusive project by Nordstrom Made. For the first two years of the project I worked as a design lead and helped lead all creative direction and brand concepting. This was an incredibly personal project that shined a light on a topic close to me; gender inclusivity. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community getting the opportunity to create something that honored the spirt of pride and created space for gender inclusivity and self discovery in fashion was life changing. Truly an honor to have been apart of this project.
