As a 3rd generation electrican, Smith has been exposed to the industry his entire life. While earning a degree in Communication, from UCF, Smith held internships at Disney and Anheuser-Busch. Upon graduation in 1997, Smith began working at S&S Electric. In short order, Smith immersed himself in the industry and has been driven by his passion for learning. To ensure S&S Electric’s position as a pioneer in its fields, Smith quickly earned various certifications, designations, and licenses. Among his major contributions to S&S Electric, Smith expanded the company’s services to include the integration of home technology products designed to allow all homeowners to enjoy the benefits of energy efficiency, indoor air quality, data/comm networks, and home entertainment.Currently serving on the boards of the IEC-FWCC, the CEA-TechHome Division, the CEA-Multi-Room Audio/Video Council, and an active member of the NAHB-Home Technology Alliance, the Home Lighting Control Alliance, and CEDIA.Smith, a self-proclaimed home technology evangelist, Smith is an avid speaker at events such as the International Builders’ Show, Electronic House Expo and the Residential Electrical Expo. Smith offers a unique overall view of the Home Technology Industry that proves invaluable to S&S Electric. As President, he consistently utilizes his networking connections to propel S&S Electric into the forefront of the building market in Florida and consistently shares his industry knowledge to advance the market as a whole. Smith is making huge strides in bringing Installed Home Technology into the traditional home environment. Smith is an advocate for finding, developing, presenting, and installing products in production homes as evidenced in the 2004 TechHome Intergrator of Year, 2006 TechHome Production Home of the Year, 2008 TechHome Builder Home of the Year, 2009 TechHome Home of the Year, and 2009 TechHome Community of the Year awards S&S Electric received from CEA.Specialties: CEDIA Installer Level I, CEDIA Installer Level II, CEDIA Certified Designer, BICSI Registered Residential Installer, CompTIA HTI+, CEA-CompTIA DHTI+, Journeyman Electrician, and others.
