    The ~$25 Billion (NAV) real estate portfolio of the New York State Common Retirement Fund (the “CRF”) includes investments in private open- and closed-end funds, strategic joint ventures, and separate managed accounts. My role includes sourcing, screening, and negotiating new direct and indirect real estate investment opportunities, as well as balancing long-term strategies within the overall portfolio to achieve results superior to benchmarks.My current efforts include overseeing the CRF’s $4.8 Billion separate managed account program and two internally managed joint ventures, including a “build-to-core” multifamily program consisting of four stabilized apartment communities and seven projects under construction. I am also actively seeking investment opportunities in Real Estate Operating Companies (REOC). In addition to seeking new investment opportunities for the CRF and managing initiatives that are discretionary to the CRF, I oversee a portfolio of commingled fund investments. My responsibilities include managing existing and prospective sponsor and advisor relationships, and representing the CRF at investor meetings. I also represent the CRF at industry conferences where I have participated as a panelist at events sponsored by Urban Land Institute (ULI), Pension Real Estate Association, (PREA), the Association of Foreign Investors in Real Estate (AFIRE), Real Estate Limited Partner Institute (RELPI), and New York Private Equity Network (NYPEN).
