Facilitate faculty training in introductory data science skills and concepts. Maintain and research technologies for the Foundations of Data Science course. Organize data science-related workshops and events for CCSF students, faculty, and staff. Assist in growing the current data science course and program offerings at CCSF.

In collaboration with UC Berkeley, developed one of the first introductory Data Science courses in the California Community College system.Instructor and Design in-person, remote, and online courses in Algebra, Calculus, Probability, Statistics, Discrete Mathematics, and Data Science.Serve on various department and college committees such as the Open Educational Resources, the Community of Practice, Community of Online Practice, Department Website, Faculty Evaluation, and Data Science committees.Utilize learner data accessed from the Canvas API to summarize learner development, modify course design, and improve instructional methodologies.

Evaluate faculty online course design based on the California Virtual Campus-Online Education Initiative rubric.Provide remote faculty support in using relevant educational technologies such as Canvas, Zoom, etc., and provide guidance in online pedagogy.

Worked closely with the Signals Modeling team to understand and explore the workplace culture and Data Science principles surrounding the development of the models supporting the BING Advertisement projects such as Abacus.

Instructed undergraduate mathematics courses from Beginning Algebra to Business Calculus. Tutored undergraduate students through Differential Equations as part of the GTA duties. Contributed to weekly departmental seminars. According to Ken Miller (previous Graduate Coordinator at WSU): "He was very conscientious and responsible in fulfilling his duties as a teaching assistant. Shawn is an excellent teacher and has received exceptionally strong teaching evaluations.
