My sweet spot is leading transactions in the international capital markets. I have raised over $3 bn in equity and over $6 bn in debt in the public and private markets including an IPO. I have been a change agent / turnaround leader in several industries. My adaptability has been exhibited throughout my career by expansive functional responsibilities covering Treasury, Investor Relations, Financial Planning & Analysis, Mergers & Acquisitions, Operational Finance, Risk Management, and Human Resources.Some of my proudest achievements are leading the restructuring the balance sheet of a global oilfield services company in 6 weeks by raising $1 billion in equity and $2.5 billion in debt, leading an IPO and turn-around of a PE-backed manufacturer. I have been consistently acknowledged for “bringing order out of chaos”, particularly in time-critical, complex circumstances. In leading people through crises and change, my experience has taught me it is vital that listen but are also determined, adaptable and rigorous in decision-making.I have consistently applied these skills in both private equity-backed and public companies in the engineering, oilfield services, chemicals, and manufacturing sectors with revenues ranging from start-up to $14 billion (eg Transocean, Air Liquide, Walt Disney). Enjoying sports and the outdoors taught me the importance of action and movement. I have been recognized to quickly evaluate situations which allowed me to clarify decision-making and crafting a viable roadmap. I developed these abilities at a young age participating and leading hiking, canoeing, and backcountry skiing trips (as well as cross-country and wrestling) all which require foresight, planning, awareness, teamwork, and quick decision-making.In addition, at a very young age, I acquired the aptitude to value different views - born in Japan and lived in Singapore, Paris, London, and Geneva.
