Growing up, I spent more time whisked away in the fantasy world of my current read than in reality. Now, I'm so proud that I get to share the wonders of reading, as well as everything else libraries have to offer, with my community every day. I'm passionate about showcasing the community hub aspect of libraries and developing services that reflect the diversity of those the library serves. Each unique member of the community deserves to feel seen and represented in the both the library's collection and programming. In pursuit of this goal, I've created two programs from idea to execution while working for Plano Public Library, with more in the works. I also prioritize curating diverse content for both the story times and reader's advisories I perform and spend time researching new information and resources my library offers to improve my reference services. Additionally, I utilize my public relations background to lead my branch's social media team and support my coworkers through the sunshine committee. I also love baking in my free time, and I bring the occasional treat to share for celebrations or just because! When I'm not at work or reading, I'm devoting time to pampering my two orange kitties and exploring the DFW area with my husband. We're from Northwest Arkansas, so we often miss the mountains, but we're enjoying all that city life has to offer!
