As a specialist complaints handler, I am responsible for the end-to-end process of preparing and decisioning PPI claims received from the Financial Ombudsman Service. This entails preparing cases by doing thorough research on accounts to ensure the upmost accuracy for adequate compensation or dismissal of PPI claims. I am responsible for researching previous accounts to determine whether the customer was suitable and eligible for the PPI at the point of sale. During the process, I am required to take into account the customer's own recollection, complaint points put forth on the correspondence, whilst being compliant with Barclays policy. By providing the most accurate and detailed investigation that I can, I am able to minimise the escalation of any complaints. I am trained in data protection and fraud prevention, as well as working in compliance with UK, EU, UN and US sanctions.
