I teach The Analyst's Edge with a friend of mine. The course is part of Columbia Business School's MBA investing program. It's an application-only course where eight to ten students learn what it takes to become world-class investors.

After Woodson, my plan was to take some time off before building 10x10y but there was this opportunity to help a friend turnaround and stabilize his investment firm during the pandemic. We put together a 3-year plan and executed it in 6 months. I led the Consumer portfolio and generated 2500+ bps in alpha during this period. Once the business was returned to more stable footing, I left to pursue my original plan post-Woodson.

We grew the firm from $120M in AUM in 2017 to over $1B in 2020. I invested in Consumer and Technology opportunities in the U.S., Europe, and Australia, and led our European efforts.

While my strengths lay in investing, I knew little about operations and marketing and was unable to achieve the necessary scale. I ended up learning a lot -- all of which came in handy in the opportunities that followed.
