About Shaydanay Urbani
I am Partnerships Manager for the Information Futures Lab at Brown University's School of Public Health. At IFL, we work on solutions to modern information problems, with a particular interest in projects that bridge research, policy, and practice. If you are interested in working with the lab, please don't hesitate to send me a note.On a more personal level, I'm particularly interested in the intersection of information, foreign policy, surveillance and human rights. My background is in misinformation research, criminal justice reporting, and food and sustainability ventures. Prior to Brown, I led on training and partnerships at First Draft, where I worked with NGOs and media organizations to understand and respond to misinformation more ethically and effectively.I did my bachelor's at UCLA (Geography/Environmental Studies, Phi Beta Kappa) and my master's at CUNY's graduate school of journalism in New York.Based in New York.
