Taught a course called "Trust within Fighting Forces: Its Significance, Its Creatiion, Maintenance & Destruction" to the colonels and a course called "Homer's Epics in Translation" to Dickinson College undergraduates, using my two books, _Achilles in Vietnam_ & _Odysseus in America_.

Worked with "Seamless Transition Team" [i.e., transition for injured and ill service members from military medicine to VA & civilian health care.]

This was a central, formative experience for me: as a person, professionally, intellectually, scientifically, philosophically. The Veterans Improvement Program [VIP], founded ten years before I got to the VA by James Munroe, EdD, the late Lillian Rodriguez MD, Lisa Fisher, PhD, and Michelle Klopper, MSW, as a bootleg program to do *something* with the Vietnam combat veterans who had been repeatedly declared unworkable, unbearable, offensive, dangerous, narcissistic, psychopathic, paranoid, psychotic, and "Get this guy the f*** away from me!"I took every veteran to be my teacher, knowing that I knew nothing about their experience, unless I learned it from them in their words, not mine. I had the incredible privilege of controlling my own time and having a say in my own "intakes." If I considered it important to spend two hours with a veteran I could do it, without having someone [figuratively speaking] with a stopwatch walking up and down outside my door muttering and shaking his or her head.If this description is not to be the length of a book, I must summarize.

Produced a study for the Army G-1, LtGen Hagenbeck called "Trust within Fighting Forces: Its Significance, Its Creation, Maintenance, and Destruction." As part of my preparation for this, the Army sent me to the General Officers/SES course at the Army Force Management School @ Ft. Belvoir
