Hi! My name is Shayla Cox and I'm currently a junior at UTSA. I'm studying Marketing and plan to graduate by Dec. 2025. I discovered my major (specifically Social Media Marketing/ Digital Marketing) during my freshman year of college. I quickly made the switch from pre-med and found my place in the Carlos Alvarez College of Business. I've been content creating all my life. I've had about six or seven different YouTube channels from thirteen until now, and I've always enjoyed being creative with content creation and editing. I even got a low grade on my Spanish video project for being "too creative." But, I don't like to be cookie-cutter. I like to elevate any project I'm working on and incorporate layers of fun and humor while remaining professional. Another one of my hobbies is photography. I take photos for friends, family, and clients for shoots. It has taught me a lot about editing programs and cameras, so I'm glad to have learned from my hobbies to develop me for my future career.My work in the marketing field has been brief but has taught me about the responsibilities and standards of a social media marketer. I'm excited to learn and grow from future like-minded co-workers, mentors, and peers!
