I’m an experienced communications professional with 18-plus years of experience in the areas of print and broadcast journalism. In each of the positions I’ve worked in I’ve worn several different hats and produced high quality work at the local and national level. My forte is taking interviews, ideas and concepts and communicating them in a fun and easy to understand way, whether it’s for a press release, company bio, feature article, style-focused blog post or TV segment. I’ve also managed teams of people and worked with freelancers to assign out projects, collaborate creatively, outline goals and expectations, and ensure everything is done on deadline and within budget. I’m comfortable overseeing people and also understand the fine balance of allowing employees to define their strengths and grow within a company as well as match up individuals to projects based on their talent. On the flip side, I excel at working independently and taking a project and completing it on time and exceeding expectations for the finished result. As a former creative director, I am full of original ideas and thrive when I’m able to brainstorm and add my own stamp to whatever I’m working on. In the past I’ve executed editorial fashion and product spreads for print and web, inventive and exciting e-commerce shopping campaigns and brand standard materials.

Editorial Director, Brava MagazineNei-Turner Media Group Jan 2017 - PresentVerona, Wisconsin, United StatesI'm the editorial director of BRAVA Magazine, a print and digital publication focused on Dane County-area women. We report on current and trending topics for women including health/wellness, finance, career, style/beauty, profiles, food/drink, home/garden and feature pieces. I am passionate about reporting on areas that our readers are asking about and will relate to. Women are doing amazing things, and we are here to support and uplift them in their endeavors.Prior to BRAVA, I oversaw eight publications for Nei-Turner Media Group, including Lakeshore Living (four editions), Experience WISCONSIN, Experience MICHIGAN, Arizona Meetings & Events, the Lake Geneva Visitors Magazine and the Lisle Visitors Guide. With a passion for home and garden and tourism topics, I enjoy bringing fresh, new ideas to print multiple times a year and working closely with our art department to lay out and elevate the overall look and feel of each of our magazines.I employ excellent organizational skills, project management expertise and a keen design eye to make each publication a polished, editorially pleasing product for each audience we serve. From start to finish, I manage the entire production process for each magazine and guide starting with concepting each story, assigning out writing and photography, editing each article, working with the art director on article layouts and approving the entire book. I also work on the printing and circulation side to make sure each publication is on track to be mailed out to our readers. With that holistic view in mind, I also partner with our digital department on e-newsletters, social media and website content to round out each publication's presence and grow our digital audience.
