Currently, I just started at Trex working as a process technician in Winchester, VA manufacturing composite decking. I have 10 years underground6 as a machine operator/fireboss3 in the safety department1 year as a foremanI began my mining career at GMS as a contractor, working and learning the basic skills (laying rail, building walls, running scoop). I was asked to go to longwall, where I helped tear down, set up, and provided general support. I was hired by Consol Energy in 2010. I started at Harvey Mine as a bolter helper and quickly began bolting off of the miner. I worked my way from the helper to a miner operator in a year and a half. I took a job in the safety department at Enlow Fork. I have gained analytic skills while in the safety department by completing audit/inspections and reports, injury analysis and compliance statistics. I am versed with accident and incident investigations and near misses. I received my assistant mine foreman papers and began firebossing. I then became a fireboss and then a production foreman, supervising 10-15 workers mining the coal. While leading a team, ensuring there is enough supplies, I also have to make examinations to make sure the men will be safe from hazards and the area free of violations. Previous work experience include a wastewater technician, working at various sewage plants. At the plants, I had to record information, work on pumps, clean and make the plant safe and troubleshoot any problems including minor electrical issues. I also had a short stint with the Washington Wild Things, playing infield. I was a captain at Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 2008, where the team set many team records and I set 5 personal school records. I was an all American honorable mention in 2009. Then, I was an assistant coach at Waynesburg High for 2 years; I worked with infielders, hitters and took control of the strength and conditioning. I have a degree in journalism from IUP. I began as a freelance sports writer for the My Sports Vote app in July 2019.
