I believe our lives are defined by what we can access.Due to this belief, my professional life (>15 years) is devoted to financial inclusion through technology & partnerships to ensure access to financial (insurance, savings, and loans) services are available to all.My current role is as a consultant for the United Nations- World Food Programme, working on Climate Risk Insurance and Financial Inclusion in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. I have conceptualized the Savings and Insurance Layering (SAIL) approach that's now being integrated into 5 countries of the 30+ project countries under the WFP portfolio.I also worked on projects with the Asian Development Bank and the World Bank on Climate and Pandemic Risk Financing in the Philippines.I co-founded a consulting company, Impact Advisory Services (IAS), that aims to provide support in navigating the regulatory and business environment of the insurtech and fintech sectors in Asia and the Pacific. Through IAS, I served as a Market Engagement Manager with the GSMA in a loan and credit scoring program in PNG. I also served as a consultant for numerous insurtech start-ups in the Philippines: Kwik Insure, Maria Health, etc. I also have dedicated my time to providing strategic guidance to 1Cooperative Insurance System of the Philippines, and Happy Homes Cooperative. I also worked as a volunteer interim Chief Financial Officer of DigiCoop.Before co-founding IAS, I was a Senior Advisor for Insurtech at the German Development Cooperation in Indonesia, Mongolia, Pakistan, Philippines, Nepal, Sri Lanka, & Vietnam. Prior to that, I used to head the Microinsurance Division of the Philippine Insurance Commission (IC).For two (2) years, I served as the head of the Gender and Development Task Force of the IC, providing training and working on gender mainstreaming. Beyond work, I was an active Toastmasters member who served as an Area Director, President, VP-Education, and VP-Public Relations.I also dedicated a few years to being a Regional Adviser for the Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants, bagging the Most Outstanding Regional Adviser in 2016. I was given opportunities to teach Finance at the University of Makati and Asia Pacific College.I authored and self-published a poetry book, financial inclusion manuals, and case studies on The Philippine Approach to Inclusive Insurance Market Development (2016 and 2019).
