Collaborated with many individuals across many different industries and study areas to do viral DNA classification and research. Developed new software and databases that make the classification and analysis of viral DNA sequences more accessible to non computer scientists or bioinformaticians. - Classified viral DNA sequences using NAU’s high performance supercomputer, Monsoon- Used the bioinformatics framework Qiime2 to prepare and process the viral DNA sequences- Developed software pipelines to make Qiime2 more accessible and approachable for individuals without command line interface experience- Worked alongside individuals in microbiology and bioinformatics to determine the processes, requirements and standards for the processing, handling, and classification of the viral DNA sequences- Created new databases that keep track of the sequence analysis processes to allow for further analysis
