Ryan Shazier is an native of Fort Lauderdale, Fl graduating from Plantation High School in 2011. Shazier was ranked nationally as an outside linebacker appealing the likes of over five dozen colleges. Shazier forfeit the second half of high school tenure and enrolled into Ohio State University in the spring of 2010. Shazier attended Ohio State University from 2010-2014. Shazier leadership and work ethic earned the respect of his teammates being coined team captain his final two seasons while also earning All-conference, and All- American honors before getting drafted #15 overall in the 2014 draft to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Shazier is now in his sixth season as an professional athlete for the Pittsburgh Steelers . At the age of five Shazier began losing his hair to later be diagnosed with Alopecia. While reminiscing on the difficulties faced in his adulescens Shazier uses his platform to work closely with the Alopecia foundation inspiring those with Alopecia. Shazier in his fourth season for the Steelers suffered a season ending spinal cord injury Dec 4, 2017 . While Shazier is still rehabbing his once again is using his platform to launch the Shalieve Fight Foundation. Shazier foundation will help those in Western , PA who have suffered with spinal cord injuries get additional rehabilitation, transportation , and accommodations that they may not have gotten otherwise. Shazier is married to Michelle Shazier, has two kids Ryan Shazier Jr , Lyon Shazier.
