About Sophie Puffett

I am currently a Design Management Trainee with Wates Construction in Yorkshire and the North East. I assist in managing the design processes to reduce risk, maximise project outcomes and ensure compliance with contracts and statutory bodies. I have collaborated with internal and external teams to review design data, check for technical completeness and identify potential risks or issues, whilst providing design updates and reports to managers while supporting the preparation of consultant performance reports. I have been able to build and maintain strong relationships with designers, subcontractors and clients. I graduated from Nottingham Trent University in 2023, with a BSc Product Design Degree. Whilst at University, I gained experience within Adobe Creative Suite, Solidworks and Project Management. During my final year of University, I was Branding and Print Team Leader for the NTU Degree Show (NTUDI), where my team and I designed the logo, branding and assets for NTUDI and went on to design all print elements, including a brochure for all students in our year and print elements for the Degree Show, which took place in May/June 2023. I was a designer for Platform Magazine at University, creating article layouts. I have previously been Head of Design in 2021-22 and Deputy Head of Design in 2020-21.I have experience in Freelance Graphic Design and my clients have included LeftLion Magazine, who I produced a Cover Illustration for their Welcome to Nottingham Edition. RPHF, a charity, who I have produced several illustrations for and I have designed a logo for a Channel Swim Team, which has been used on all of their kit. Also, using these developed skills, I have set up a business selling Pet and Pop Culture Prints via Etsy. These are all designed by me, and I market, package and send these out to customers who purchase them.I have eleven months experience in Retail and Merchandising and I have been doing voluntary work for an International Organisation for five years.
