I have been working as a businesswoman for the last 30 years, having run 3 ventures successfully. Being a businesswoman for a major part of my life, I keep looking for ideas that could fulfill a real-life need of society. The concept of Byftu struck me when I saw ladies making very creative products at their homes. During COVID, the number of such home-preneurs increased and so did the demand for the products and services offered by such women-owned home/ small businesses. However, the exposure that such businesses receive is very limited due to the limitations that women face by virtue of their gender-based roles. Therefore, Byftu is an attempt to bring such businesswomen on an online platform so that they can have a much higher customer reach.
