At Mountwest, I provided oversight and leadership for the Mountwest Foundation and the alumni relations, grants management, marketing & communications and scholarship management functions of the institution. My staff and I also managed a $5 million grant from the U.S. Department of Labor. Specific responsibilities included:Led the college’s private fundraising efforts and secure grant funding; Managed the Marketing & Communication efforts of the college. This included working closely with college leadership, our marketing agency, recruiting staff and other marketing staff to plan and implement marketing campaigns, produce publications and manage other outreach efforts of the college, including a Web site redesign and social media integration. Worked closely with the college president and Mountwest Foundation Board of Directors to establish and achieve fundraising goals;Initiated and cultivated relationships with donors and potential donors; Authored and prepared grant proposals on behalf of both the college and foundation, including those to private and corporate foundations and state and federal agencies; Maintained and updated the Mountwest Foundation web site and all foundation-related publications and promotions, as well as marketing materials for the college;Crafted appropriate acknowledgements for gifts, including letters, hand-written notes, telephone calls, news releases and web site and social media updates;Oversaw the daily operations of the Mountwest Foundation, including tracking and disbursement of endowed funds;Drafted and implemented procedures related to fundraising and grants;Organized regular meetings and made reports to the foundation’s Board of Directors; andProvided oversight for grant applications and reporting made on behalf of the college and foundation.
