Technical AdvisorOverseeing the electrical requirements on the shovels sectionDay to day man management and assigning work and duties SUMMARY• Adhering to Barrick Gold Mine’s safety rules, policies and procedures- JSA, FLRA, Take 5, etc• Providing leadership, guidance, & assistance to the breakdown and service crews to ensure that mobile equipment availability targets are archived and maintained.• Opening work orders ,closing and ordering parts in pronto• Attending to all defects on mobile mining equipment as listed by the operators• Installation of new harnesses and rewiring on defective equipment• Carrying out manual and computerised trouble shooting and rectifying all electrical defects on all Barrick mobile mining equipment and support equipment as per OEM• Carrying out quality inspections –Electrical, GETs, Pin play, track sag, Leakages(pre and post repairs)• Component change outs (slip ring box, engines, motors, wire harnesses, pump drives, cylinders, buckets, final drives, undercarriage, starter motors, alternators, wiper motors) & reporting accident and misuse damages to superiors• Carrying out data downloads and implementing action on all alarms• Air condition repairs and recharging.• Implementing authorised modifications as per OEM• Executing complete Dump truck/ Excavator/Shovel shut down repairs and recovery • Executing maintenance repairs –Performance tests, accident repairs, services, backlogs, breakdowns • Administering on the job training to local artisans and apprentices
