I applied SHM looking for a Full-stack Javascript role, but after meeting the people there, I was allowed to join a Cybersecurity startup, their infrastructure works around Linux, so my sysadmin experience turned out very valuable here too. I initially had a devops role maintaining servers using SaltStack and handling services with Docker.After some time I had to take a Software Development role, which consisted in a lot of research and development. I maintained the project's original codebase consisting in several microservices written in Go, but eventually wrote a new standalone app using nodejs (nestjs as the web framework) and bootstrap for the frontend.Direct contact with the client was the norm and we held standup meetings 3 times a week.My experience in SHM was not only about software development, I had also multiple other roles like:- I was the technical coach, helping other SHM workmates with their technical needs.- Helped HR with the recruitment process, analyzing candidates, doing team interviews and some tech interviews too.- I developed an internal webapp to handle assistance, which was used as part of the brigades activities.- I was a yoga guide, doing daily morning practices.- Communication leader for the brigades team.

After leaving Aviomar, I became a freelance developer, I had some partners who provided the opportunities and I then gathered the technical requirements and designed multiple different webapps, mostly using PHP/MySQL. Most of these webapps were internal management interfaces.During all this time, every once in a while, I keep maintaining the PoS app I developed for Aviomar.Even when I considered myself a Software developer, my freelance job was mostly around consulting and I landed a few long term relationship clients, helping them with different needs and not only software development.

I was the technical support manager, in charge of a group of remote technical support agents handling customer tickets for this WebHosting company.Additionally, I was also in charge of deploying new servers and monitoring active ones.I wrote a lot of scripts to automate certain tasks and to achieve certain goals more easily.

I joined AITelecom to help them develop a webapp they needed, using PHP/MySQL.I was not an employee, but an external consultant as a freelance software developer, which gave me certain special privileges.It was quite an adventure, my experience as a sysadmin with Linux became quite valuable and I became the main developer working on Linux routers, developing features they needed and doing internal technical support to help the level 1 technical support team.I also worked on a project doing satellite video streaming using Python and the VLC API.I was the CTO's right hand for most of my relationship with AITelecom, my close distance to the owners gave me the opportunity to help the company's employees, trying to make their work easier and being their voice, supporting them when they needed help dealing with the owners themselves.

When Webco dissolved, I continued working on the project I was working on, directly with the client.I was the main and only developer in charge of writing an big webapp that handled operations and finances. This webapp was used for more than 10 years. The technologies were PHP/MySQL.Additionally I also developed a PoS app for a sibling company, this app is still in use nowadays, 20 years later. The technologies are C#/Gtk with a MySQL backend with multiple replication slaves.

This was a small website development startup, created by a group of friends. I was the only software developer whose task was to create dynamic websites/webapps for multiple different clients. The technologies used were PHP and MySQL, using Linux.My team found the opportunities and I designed the technical side of the apps.I was also one of the sysadmins, managing Linux servers.The company dissolved in the middle of me working on a big project.

I assigned customers to their computer and helped them surf the internet if they had any issues.During this time, I learned about Linux and started using as my own personal operating system, which gave me a good edge to protect myself against a lot of the common network vulnerabilities that were floating around targeting the Windows network stack.

I helped the sales team, talking to customers and doing whatever it was needed of me.
