I have been an educator for over 12 years. Have worked with schools catering to ICSE, CBSE and the IB curricula. Have worked in various capacities of HOD (English), Academic Coordinator and Subject teacher. Closely worked with SEN students (Students with Special Needs) and students with behavioral and academic difficulty as well. Connected with Special Educators and In-school counselors to have a structured program established for these students. Have been a mentor to teachers by providing strategic and tactical leadership, striving to maintain the quality and standard of learning. Believe in leading by example and strive to ensure that all the stakeholders – the institution, the parents, the teachers and the students are benefitted by decisions taken, through critical thinking. Have conducted workshops for teachers and students on key topics like – Classroom Management, Sharing of best practices, Dealing with SEN students, Interpersonal Communication skills, Time Management, Social Behavior etc. Have designed and spearheaded school events that are a platform for students to display their talent, experiential learning and application of concepts. A mother of 2 boys, I am a voracious reader and enjoy listening to music. Have played roles of a teacher, counselor, mentor, confidante and agony aunt too during my association with parents and students. Am a multi lingual person and hence that has always given me an edge to communicate with people in an effective manner. The one thing that would always put a smile on my face is the ability to touch lives of students and thereby being able to put a smile on their faces, in turn! It is prudent to nurture a life-long love for knowledge and learning in children.
