I leverage my expertise gained from over 20 years of work combined experience at commercial and social sectors in leading teams and organizations, to advise and mentor change makers, social entrepreneurs and innovators who are creating positive change in the world. Previously, I was a lead software quality assurance engineer at a top defense contractor, software developer at a silicon valley start-up and also was treasurer/Board member, outreach director at Good Shepherd South Asian Ministry where I managed the financial operations and strategy of the organization, and supported its mission of serving the South Asian community in the East Bay. I have a strong background in computer applications, computers systems management and I hold masters degree in computers complications from Andhra University, India, and a certification in social impact strategy from the University of Pennsylvania. I am passionate about using my skills and knowledge to empower others, collaborate with like-minded partners, and contribute to the common good. Volunteered as After School Director at Vidyalaya After School Program(VASP) is an Community Outreach program developed under 501c(3) organization, Good Shepherd South Asian Ministry(GSSAM), reporting and accountable to both VASP council and Church Ministry Board. Responsibilities included hiring, developing personnel strength among the staff that will be beneficial for both staff and for the program, program budgeting. Other responsibilities of developing Mission and Vision and to be a mission developer over the time molded me to look into the bigger picture and carry out the details with intermediate goals. Part of job included being creative in meeting with community, parents and internal group leaders, developing curriculum according to the mission and vision of the program & over all GSSAM ministry. Being in the role improved the skill set in delegating, identifying and facilitating the leadership among the staff, conflict management and little bit of accounting. Over all, this position helped me understand little bit more about Equity in terms of access to After School care in the community which was the main goal of the VASP as part of GSSAM ministry and also to grow the ability creatively through educational presentations, fundraisers, grant writing to reach the goal.
