I am a highly motivated and experienced leader of health services. I am also passionate about the delivery of health and social care in the public sector. The combination of these attributes enables me to effectively engage with all staff to adapt, develop, improve and execute on high quality health services. The patients we serve and the teams I work with motivate me to strive for excellence daily. To do this within ever tightening budgetary constraints and challenging performance indicators means that I have to continually challenge the way I, and my teams, think. I enjoy the process of analysis, to find more efficient or more cost-effective ways to do things; working with internal and external stakeholders and finding solutions which don’t compromise the safety or quality of what we do.I am particularly interested in the use of information and technology to improve the way acute care is delivered and the experience of patients and have. Having spent fifteen years in the healthcare sector, in both the United Kingdom and New Zealand, I have substantial in-depth knowledge of health and social care management. I have worked across a wide range of specialties which has left me with a wealth of knowledge and experience to draw upon to assist me in any role, ensuring that services for which I am responsible deliver the best possible care for the population.
