Lead Planner at one of Mars Petcare UK factories, responsible for a team of 4 planners who manage raw materials, packaging, factory planning and outbound logistics, sustaining factory production for both the UK market and 12 export markets. Accountable for the short and long term planning of a complex factory along with the supply element of a robust S&OP process by proactively maintaining an overview of the overall supply chain, including marketing activities, raw material and pack supplies, factory maintenance plans, R&D product developments, quality issues, demand planning and finance. Key Achievements•Portfolio Re Launch – Successfully oversaw the onsite planning of a complete portfolio re-launch of approximately 200 SKU’s. Ensured no market impact in the UK or European markets from the transition to the new portfolio. Resulting in minimal NQC on packs and raw materials whilst also maintaining casefill to all markets.•FMOS – Respected member of the team responsible for the roll out of the factory FMOS process on site, responsible for the escalation of logistics issues through the daily and weekly process. Leading to a culture of ownership and accountability which drives resolution of issues in a timely manner therefore improving engagement.•S&OP – Played an active part in team responsible for the role out of S&OP, reviewing and owning meetings within the periodic cycle ensuring escalation of key issues efficiently in the correct forums. Responsible for the collation of site data from R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, Commercial, Logistics and Finance for periodic reviews and resolution of issues.•Crisis Management – Experienced member of the business crisis team, having dealt with customers, authorities, recalls and quality issues within various roles at Mars. Effectively managed internal and external communication during crisis situations to all stakeholders. Maintains a calm approach in these situations, often taking on a coordinating role.

As part of the UK Commercial team, responsible for the adherence to the legislative requirements for petfood manufacture. Ensuring all import / export guidelines for movement of raw materials, samples and finished product globally were adhered to. Responsible for building lasting relationships with Port Authorities, Trading Standards, Environmental Health, Embassies, FEDIAF, PFMA, FDF, DEFRA ensuring effective communication of legislation changes, along with the ability to react quickly to any crisis situations, giving us a competitive edge.

Responsible for the communication of UK and European market issues from trade and retail customers to all European petfood factories, driving continuous improvement in the supply chain and within the factories on a periodic basis through the S&OP process. Lead the liaison with TSO/EHO to reach resolution in instances of serious complaint and drove the factory investigations to satisfactory conclusion. Responsible for distribution warehouses, including regular audits of the premises, review meetings and continuous improvement plans.
