I am passionate about the powerful combination of talent, innovation and social motivation to drive change, which was the catalyst for setting up Careers4Change, a specialist recruitment consultancy for social impact jobs. I have spent much of my career nurturing and empowering people to deliver their maximum potential and take great pleasure in watching new employees grow into their roles. After some years in corporate life, hiring and developing teams, I recognised my own desire to contribute to social change in some way. I was fortunate to navigate a path through social enterprise, impact investment and corporate sustainability along the way, finally merging my experience and insights to create a business connecting purpose-driven individuals with innovative organisations which deliver a positive social impact. It is clear that the world is facing more complex challenges than ever before; the recent coronavirus pandemic has created increased urgency around the need for social change, as we continue to be faced with inequality; highlighted by the Black Lives Matter protests, rising global population, energy crisis, climate change, fresh water shortages and social instability. Communities, businesses and government have had to face unprecedented demands. Businesses are responding in increasingly innovative ways, meanwhile advances in the social economy are helping to guide the evolution of the global economy to make it fit for the challenges of the 21st century. But I feel that all of this can only be orchestrated effectively with the right talented professionals in place. With experience in the corporate sector and the social economy, I offer expertise acquired from a variety of leading positions as recruitment and search consultant, business leader, marketing director, corporate connector and social change advocate. I recognise the need for a conduit to help talented individuals to navigate the social impact job market and I feel that I am in a great position to guide others through a transition in their careers, having pursued a diverse, non-linear career myself.
