Highlights of my time with HDR have to be:Receiving a team AIA Honorable mention award for Technology in Architectural Practice delivering a large hospital project on a team with Mortenson Construction that came in 10 weeks early and $7 Million under budget. Serving as overall BIM Manager on a joint VA and NCA project and working with a team new to Revit to use and deliver some of the most extensive BIM uses on the market at the time. We are talking about the usual suspects of course: space and medical equipment validation, design visualization, 3D coordination, but also BIM based cost estimation, BIM based energy and lifecycle analysis (before Insight using a gbXml viewer to validate the BIM export prior to Energy Analysis software import), BIM based heating and cooling load calculations, digitial testing and balancing, submission of the first COBie data to the VA, and doing it all with an amazing team of Architects, Engineers, and Project Managers.
