I am responsible for teaching Physiology to Medical students and I also serve on a number of key committees namely the Research committee, Students Assessment & Promotion Committee, Curriculum Committee, Faculty Search Committee, Academic Appointment & Promotion Committee and Programme & Faculty Evaluation Committee. Leadership Committee, Executive Committee and various subgroups responsible for preparation of the Self Study Report for NCAAA accreditation.

Interviewing the candidates and writing file notes.Recommending best available candidates for hiring.Keeping a record of faculty performance through observation and student evaluation.Preparing annual performance appraisal of faculty and staff Distribution of the teaching load among the faculty membersConduction Basic Medical Sciences Council monthly meetings, setting agenda and help in preparation of minutes. Preparing a rota for invigilation duties for the year 3-6 written examinations and OSPEs.Contributing as a member to the 'Leadership Group' of the College of Medicine.Member of various Academic, Research and Administrative committees.Key member of the team preparing SSRP for the NCAAA accreditation.Contributing to the Faculty Enhancement Programme of Dept. of Medical Education as presenter for various workshops.

I have been involved with Medical education for almost 25 years. In addition to holding a PhD In Reproductive Physiology from University of Aberdeen, I also hold a diploma in Health professions Education from Aga Khan University. I am a trained physiologist but also have expertise in the area of Problem Based Learning. I was a key member of the team responsible for the designing and implementation of the PBL curriculum at AKU Medical College Karachi. I am also a keen photographer and offered elective course for Medical Students named 'Digital Photography: From Camera to Computer & Beyond'

During 1997 to 1998 worked on a project,' Regulation of GnRH secreting hypothalamic neurons'. We intensely used Immortalized GT 1-7 hypothalamic neurons in this work.

Work on own M.Phil. research.Conducted practicals session regarding Reproductive Endocrinilogy/Physiology for M,Sc. students.Helped new M.Phil students in learning various experimental techniques used by our group working under the guidance of Prof. M. Arslan.Keeping a track of consumable and chemicals used in the Reproductive Physiology lab.Responsible for the keeping all the lan equipment in working order including the scintillation counter.and last but not the least playing table tennis.
