Registered member of MIA - Malaysian Institute of Accountants Feb 2021.Effective July 2022 Farouk was appointed as Managing Director of AEON BiG (M) Sdn Bhd a leading retailer in Malaysia consists of 22 Hypermarket outlets and 2400 employees.Previously, Farouk was with Nestle Group of companies for 18years in various positions and countries. The latest was leading the Commercial Control Finance team of Nestle Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei. From 2016 to July 2020, Farouk was based in Nestle HQ in Switzerland as the Finance Project Manager for Zone AOA (Asia, Oceania and Sub Saharan Africa), Global Controller-Ice Cream, Global Finance Lead of Idea to Launch and a certified Finance trainer.Prior to Switzerland in 2016, Farouk was Business Unit Controller-Dairy of Nestle Malaysia. The Dairy unit comprises of No 1 brand MILO, EVERYDAY, NESPRAY, OMEGA & NESTUM, contributing majority of the organization sales and profit.Farouk started his journey with Nestle Group since 2003 as a Management Trainee in Finance with Nestle Malaysia. After graduated from the programme, he began his first role as Management Accountant in 2004. At the end of 2005, he started his expatriate assignment in Singapore to set up Nestle Treasury Centre covering 17 countries in Asia Pacific. Began as Cash Management Advisor, then later promoted to FX & Risk Regional Manager.In 2010, he was promoted to Facilities Services & Real Estate Lead in Philippines, joining Nestle Business Services covering more than 60 countries for Asia, Oceania and Africa.In 2011, after 6 years of expatriation assignment, he returned to Malaysia to accept the position as Factory Financial Controller in Chembong, Negeri Sembilan. Leading the compliance and costing was the main role in manufacturing experience.In early 2012, he joined Nestle Malaysia HQ and started the commercial finance role as the Business Unit Controller-Ready-To-Drink (NESCAFE & MILO) and later move on to another much complex business in 2013-Ice Cream (MATKOOL, LA CREMERIA, DRUMSTICKS) until was given the No 1 business unit in September 2015 managing Dairy.Farouk is a Chartered Accountant from CIMA UK, graduated from Arizona State University, USA with a Degree in Finance and attended various Executive Programme with London Business School, Amsterdam Institute of Finance, Melbourne Business School and Ateneo Business School Phillippines.
