PrincipalMoco Cooks And Young Chefs Inc. Apr 2003 - PresentSilver Spring, MdI provide live, online cooking classes for youth ages 9-14, their family members, and visiting friends. Over the course of the pandemic, I have learned that online classes are better for youth and families than in-person classes. Young people learn where to find cookware in their own kitchens and where equipment belongs when putting clean tools away. They learn the benefit of cleaning up as they cook. They learn how to prepare for a class by setting up the ingredients and equipment. They watch me demonstrate a new skill, and then I watch them repeat it. Parents can give their children room to be independent but are nearby in case they are needed. Best of all, the cooking class fee is per device rather than per person.

Each program met once a week for two hours. There were two fourteen-week sessions during the school year. Last school year (2016-2017) we had two programs, each with a capacity of 20 participants.
