About Sheila Murphy

With 25 years of senior legislative experience with the U.S. Congress, Sheila Murphy helps nonprofit, corporate, and foundation partners successfully advance their legislative and advocacy agendas. A principal policy adviser to six US Senators, Sheila is an expert on the intersection of politics and policy. She knows how to successfully advance federal legislative agendas and has done so on a bipartisan basis. During her time on the Hill, Sheila set up legislative operations in three new Senate offices; developed and implemented appropriations strategies in each Senate office to secure funding for high priority projects in areas such as transportation, health care, technology, rural development and higher education; and managed successful implementation of legislative initiatives such as banning smoking on airlines. 

Today Sheila helps nonprofit, corporate, and foundation clients identify legislative objectives while crafting successful advocacy campaigns. She does this by helping organizations weave together their vision with legislative, political, communications and grassroots strategies to advance their mission.
