• Created and lead the Member Leadership Committee for Master Contract (over 2,000 janitorial members)- successfully recruited and developed a strong, well organized core of member leaders to plan and execute their vision for justice for all members of the Property Services Division. • Successfully led multiple contract campaigns at the Denver International Airport (DIA) (over 300 janitorial members), the parking attendant unit at DIA (close to 200 members), and Denver Convention Center (over 70 janitorial members) resulting in improved wages, benefits, and rights for members. Largely refugee and immigrant populations from African and Latin American nations.• Experience supervising organizers in their development and overseeing their daily, monthly and quarterly goals.• Awarded “2015 Denver Area Labor Federation (DALF) Top Organizer Award” for member leadership development and recruitment.• Led organizing efforts in political campaigns to pass legislation for workers’ rights.

With roots in the struggle for educational justice, Padres Unidos has evolved into a multi-issue organization led by people of color who work for educational excellence, racial justice for youth, immigrant rights and quality healthcare for all. Jóvenes Unidos, the youth initiative of Padres Unidos, emerged as young people became active in reforming their schools, ending the school to jail track and organizing for immigrant student rights. Both Padres and Jóvenes Unidos build power to challenge the root cause of discrimination, racism and inequity by exposing the economic, social and institutional basis for injustice as well as developing effective strategies to realize meaningful change.

Worked for immigrant and refugee janitors in the greater Denver area to organize for racial and economic justice. Developed leaders and organized to challenge the existing power structure for janitors in the Denver area. Negotiated contracts, fought grievances, developed member leadership, and educated members about their contractual and human rights and how to organize to demand these rights.

Denver Open Media (DOM) is the culmination of the Open Media Foundation's innovative vision to put the power of the media into the hands of the community. Designed to ensure all communities have the media and technology resources they need to engage in local and global communications, DOM offers cutting-edge video equipment, as well as audio and video distribution via the Internet and our radio station.DOM invited me to be on their board as a member representative. At the time I was utilizing their shooting and editing equipment to create a documentary about the lives of three union leaders and undocumented immigrants in our community as an organizing and educational tool around immigrant rights.
