I hold a Bachelors of Science in Mathematics, a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and a Master of Education in Applied Behavioral Studies from Oklahoma City University. I hold a bachelors of science in psychology and a Masters of science in Psychology from portland state university. As a combat veteran officer of the United States Army, I now direct my sense of public service toward applied social psychology research. I have 6 years experience working in Dr. Cynthia Mohr’s Dyadic Research lab and am now pursuing a PhD in Applied Social Psychology. My research interests broadly involve applying perspectives of phenomenological existentialism on concepts of the self, identity, subjective well-being, and interpersonal relationships as well as their impact on social and health behaviors. My master’s thesis focused on mother’s drinking motives among military spouses and this work has led my intentions to continue research with military, military related and other first-responder occupation populations. I also have a passion for research on coping and resilience strategies, where I have experience studying alcohol misuse across various at-risk populations. I have three children between age 4-8 and am an active member of the local school parent associations. I coach youth women’s wrestling for the State of Oregon and volunteer with several veteran resource organizations.
