Duties include:•Radio license coordination with the FCC.•Perform and prepare complex engineering analyses, studies, reports, and designs to initiate construction of electrical transmission and distribution systems including substations, communications systems, and complex computer automation systems.•Perform project management activities involving overseeing, scheduling and coordinating an engineering team, and outside contractors. •Assist in training members of the work team in compliance with policies, standard procedures, communication systems, communication equipment and computer applications. •Research customer electrical and communication needs. Communicate with customers, employees and outside agencies through personal contact, by phone or in writing. Coordinate communication system plans with customer needs and outside agencies. Investigate and resolve customer complaints and needs. Serve as account representative for major customers and initiate and complete billing for customers.•Make field inspections for proposed and existing electrical facilities for accuracy, safety, preventive maintenance, and future growth. Perform short and long range planning, studies and reports for the substation and corporate communications system. •Communicate with manufacturers concerning equipment specifications, availability and industry trends. Develop and prepare specifications for major communication projects and equipment. Approve, initiate and evaluate procurement of communication equipment and contract work for communication projects. Recommend changes in work methods and equipment to other departments.•Review and modify infrastructure use contracts and other communications contracts. •Assist in the preparation of the budget. Oversee portions of the budget. Track and report on capital projects.•Research property rights, rights-of-way and easements. Research new developments, standards, and technology in the utility field.
